Our first grade musicians are ready to take the stage for an exciting performance of "It's a Hit! A Musical of Innings & Winnings". Thursday, May 16, 7 p.m. @ PSHS Auditorium.

Congratulations to McKinley Elementary 1st Grader Emme Morgan on receiving her medal of excellence in penmanship after submitting her amazing handwriting sample in the Zaner-Bloser National Handwriting Contest!

Poland McKinley Elementary & Poland Middle School received the Overall 5-Star Building Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce for their performance on the Traditional Report Card.

It’s MARCH MADNESS with Mrs. Herdman’s Helpers! The students have picked their favorite books to go head to head in matchups to find out which will win the class book of the year. Who will win? Let’s jump in!

You might remember that a month ago, Mr. Beard, Mr. Kempers, and Mr. W promised McKinley that if they surpassed their goal of raising $27,000 for the American Heart Association, the Bulldogs would get to "pie" them! Well, TODAY WAS THE DAY! Top donating classrooms watched their teachers face off in "Pie Face" too! Thank you, Poland, for helping us aim for a world of happier, healthier hearts!

The reviews are in! Mrs. Ungaro’s second graders have been practicing their reading and writing skills by reviewing books and now… Musicals! The class recently attended The Poland Players’ rendition of "POPSTARS, The 90s Musical" together, and now, they’d like to share their glowing reviews and send a very special congratulations to Mrs. Fonagy, the director of the shows.

March Madness takes on Music in Miss Senatore's class! Our students are learning many music genres, but a friendly tournament between the styles will determine McKinley's favorite genre of music. Let's see how Mrs. Flasco and Mrs. Muntean's classes vote!

We are getting excited for the Solar Eclipse! Inspired by the great Alma Thomas and her famous creation "The Eclipse", the K-6 Bulldogs are coloring the coronas of their own solar eclipses! Follow along with our 3rd graders as the colors fill the paper!

March 17-23, 2024 is Severe Weather and Flood Safety Awareness Week. Poland Local Schools will be participating in the Statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 9:50 a.m.

Thank you to all friends of the McKinley Bulldogs for helping students raise over $27,000 for the American Heart Association as part of the Kids Heart Challenge!

Many classrooms are celebrating March Madness with Book Brackets! The Bulldogs will read stories and vote on their favorites until there is a champion! Mrs. Muntean's Bulldogs cast their vote by making a basket! Mrs. Fening's class even took to the court to practice their reading and math skills! We'll have a video soon with Mrs. Herdman's Helpers as they cast their votes!

A friendly football game takes place at historic Baird Mitchell Field, and detectives in 3rd grade investigate different leaves, insects, and rubble on the playground with Detective Frog!

The Pawsitive Leaders Club at McKinley met last week to decorate the halls with positive messages and reminders of the PAWS we practice: Positive, Always Respectful, Working Responsibly, and Safe. They are also making gratitude cards to hand out to those that they are thankful for!

2024 is a leap year! Which means on February 29, Mrs. Jeswald’s second grade bullfrogs… I mean Bulldogs! leaped into a ribbeting… I mean riveting lesson involving measurements! Let’s HOP in!

100 DAYS SMARTER! Kindergarteners celebrated their 100th day in school today! They are sure getting older, smarter, and funnier too. These outfits gave us the giggles!
