With the forecast of extreme cold temperatures on Monday, January 20, the community cheer clinic has been postponed. The cheer clinic is rescheduled on Monday, January 27, in the PE Gym at PSHS from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Please enter through the doors located by the auditorium entrance (facing the football stadium). The girls will be invited to perform at the half on Tuesday, January 28. 

Poland Local School District has calculated and posted Student Fees for the 2024-2025 School Year and PSHS Student Fees for the first semester. Parents/guardians of students with outstanding fee balances will receive emails with instructions to view their invoice and pay online or by cash/check.

The world's best second-grade poets from McKinley Elementary were invited to Kelliher's Cafe and Lawless's Lounge to present their animal poems. They enjoyed cocoa and treats as their friends read poems about snakes, cats, and even Bulldogs!

Our Second Graders were stylish magic reindeers tonight at their holiday concert! They walked, strutted, swayed, and sashayed on the runway before liftoff... They designed their dreams with their unique handmade antlers... and they sang in the holiday season with a grand finale, "Ready For Christmas!" These talented reindeer presented such an amazing performance! Congratulations to Ms. Senatore and the Bulldogs!

Inspired by Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet, students created their own vibrant balloons, honoring the creativity of Tony Sarg, the mastermind behind the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. STEELERS OR BROWNS?! Mrs. Kountz and the DAWG POUND hope Nick Chubb scores tonight! Right next door on the third floor, Mrs. Donahue's Bulldogs think the Justin Fields/George Pickens connection is too strong for the Browns. Either way, they teamed up to celebrate the NFL's best rivalry!

Get into the holiday spirit with a series of concerts from Poland Local Schools! Join us as our talented students from various grade levels fill the air with music and joy in December. Each performance is open to the public, and we invite our community to celebrate the season together!

CAREERS WEEK! Mrs. Muntean’s First Grade students explored an exciting variety of careers during Careers Week! They welcomed some amazing parents who inspired the next generation of bakers, therapists, Air Force Reservists, engineers, and realtors. Together, the students participated in hands-on activities to practice their new career skills—first grade might be a little early for a résumé, but it’s never too early to dream big! Thank you to all the parents who shared their time and expertise to make this week so special!

K-6 PARENT LITERACY NIGHT | Join us on Tuesday, November 19, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dobbins Early Learning Center for an informative evening on supporting student literacy. Learn about federal programs, hear from our principals, enjoy a presentation by the Poland Library, and connect with literacy coaches for helpful resources. Poland Local Schools proudly celebrated Veterans Day with heartfelt events across all grade levels. Students honored Veterans through musical performances, historical presentations, and acts of gratitude, connecting with community heroes in meaningful and memorable ways.

The McKinley Elementary 3rd Grade Class, under the direction of Ms. Senatore, gave a wonderful Veterans Day presentation, sharing tunes and presenting the history of Veterans Day for their classmates and teachers. Their performance honored those who served and celebrated the importance of Veterans Day.

The McKinley Elementary Pawsitive Leaders Club met for the first time this year. The third grade students worked in groups to decorate signs that will soon color our hallways, reminding Bulldogs to be Positive, Always Respectful, Working Responsibly, and Safe!

Something HAUNTED is happening in Mrs. Herdman's class! The Bulldogs are selling Haunted Houses, and they're using nouns and adjectives to convince YOU to buy their houses! ENTER IF YOU DARE!!

We are excited to announce our annual districtwide food drive, sponsored by Poland Middle School's PANDA Club and the Student Councils from both Poland Junior and Senior High Schools. All food donations will stay within the community to assist families in need. The food drive will run from November 4 through November 15. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference, and together, we can have a lasting impact on those in need.

World Kindness Day is Wednesday, November 13th, and Poland Local Schools invites students/staff to wear bright/neon colors. We ask that parents and children participate by doing one random act of kindness. We will select a few student's kind acts to share on our morning announcements each day during the week of November 11th thru to Thanksgiving Break. Parents and caretakers, please record your child’s random act of kindness below and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher by Friday, November 8th

It’s Red Ribbon Week at Poland Local Schools, and the theme this year is “Life is a movie, Film your best life.” Our 6th Grade PANDA leaders recorded commercials to promote healthy and positive choices. We also had fun with themes and exercises for each day of the week. Enjoy Red Ribbon Week! 

Mrs. Patrick's Kindergarteners became odd animals for the day to practice the letter O! Have you ever seen blue owls with stripes, a pink and blue chicken named Chicky-Wicky, rainbow snakes, or dogs that climb trees?! It was a wacky fun day!
